A chemical peel uses a chemical solution to smooth the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers.

Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your neck and hands.

A chemical peel is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Sun exposure, acne, or just getting older can leave your skin tone uneven, wrinkled, spotted or scarred.

A chemical peel can help improve:

  • Acne or acne scars
  • Age and liver spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Freckles
  • Irregular skin pigmentation
  • Rough skin and scaly patches
  • Scars
  • Sun-damaged skin

What a chemical peel won’t do

  • Treat deep facial lines
  • Tighten loose or sagging skin
  • Remove broken capillaries
  • Change pore size
  • Remove deep scars

Another anti-aging treatment is called microneedling. It uses about a dozen fine needles to penetrate between the skin’s surface to rebuild elasticity and reduce the size of pores. It’s great for treating acne scars and rejuvenating aging or sun-damaged skin. Results are noticeable within a few treatments, and long-lasting results can be obtained with the microneedling technique.

PRP Microneedling – PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. Plasma contains high amounts of platelets, stem cells and growth factors. These items are used to help your body heal and grow new cells. When used in microneedling it enters through the small channels to help to repair damaged skin, such as scar tissue, and grow new collagen and elastin within the skin. In order to obtain the PRP we use a small needle we draw a small amount of blood from your arm. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma. The plasma is then used for your microneedling treatment to repair cells and generate and stimulate healthy new tissue.

Dermaplaning is an exfoliative treatment performed using a scalpel to “shave” away the outermost layers of the skin. This process is painless and very safe but is only recommended for treatment of the face (not the nose, neck or decollete). Not only will you achieve smoother, brighter skin but this also helps remove peach fuzz. Despite popular belief, the hair does not grow back thicker.

Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer.

This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks.

Microdermabrasion can:

  • Improve age spots and black heads.
  • Improve hyperpigmentation (patches of darkened skin).
  • Exfoliate your skin, resulting in a refreshed appearance.
  • Lessen the appearance of stretch marks.
  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Reduce or eliminate enlarged pores.
  • Treat acne and the scars left by acne.

Microdermabrasion helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that’s abundant when you’re a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin.
